Talk: A Climbing Obsession, with Gary Gibson

For anyone unfamiliar with Gary Gibson, a quick search on Cordee or UKC returns a long list of photos, logbook entries, books and articles. We’re delighted to have Gary join us to talk about his life, his obsession for climbing that includes him making the first ascents of over 4,750 rock climbing routes, and all the stories that accompany his climbing obsession.
His autobiography ‘Blood, Sweat and Smears’ provides an intriguing insight into what to expect on the night from Gary, who is described as “bedevilled by controversy, mostly of his own making” and “a man who has gone his own way and clashed with the climbing establishment of the day”.
A few copies of Gary’s book will be available to purchase on the night priced at £25 per copy.
