Join

To join us, you must first provide some information about yourself, indicate that you accept the risks inherent in mountaineering, and consent to our data policy. You should already have done all that as part of trying us out for free** so all that is left to do now that you’ve decided to join us is to pay your annual membership fee. The rates and how we apply them are explained below.

At present we accept membership payments by bank transfer only. Bank details will be given to you when you are ready to join. Please ask for them.

Membership categories

The Club has five categories of membership, each with its own subscription rate, as shown in Table 1 below.

First time joiners and rejoiners

If you are joining for the first time (or joining again after a period of non-membership) the applicable rate for ordinary membership depends on the month of the year in which you join, as shown in Table 3 below.

Your joining month will be taken as three months after registering in our ‘try for free‘ scheme.

If you join in one of the categories other than ordinary membership (i.e., additional family member, special membership, or associate membership) the reduced rate applies from January to September. If joining after September, the lesser rate applies, with the reduced rate for the following year falling due in January.

Renewals for existing members (continuous membership)

Membership renewal for existing members becomes due annually in October, after our Annual General Meeting (AGM) has taken place. The applicable rates are given in Tables 1 and 2 above.
