Walk: Black Mountains: a circuit from Rhos Fach common. 25km/15.5 miles, 1269m/4163 ft ascent (Hard)
Join Ralph for this hard graded walk of 25km/15.5 miles, 1269m/4163 ft ascent.
An ascent from the north via Cwm Cwnstab and continuing to Waun Fach and Pen y Gadair Fawr. Dropping into the Grwyne Fechan valley the route then climbs to Pen Twyn Glas and continues over Mynydd Llysiau to the col (Macnamara’s road 616m). A gradual descent to cross the river in Cwm Rhiangoll followed by a pull up to Bwlch Bach a’r Grib. From the summit of Y Grib the edge is followed to Mynydd Bychan from where the path zig zags it’s descent and then returns to the start. 15.5 miles, 4163 ft ascent.
