DESCRIPTION:A 5-6 mile loop (925 feet ascent) heading out of the village along the former railway line and entering Tyn y Coed for a steep ascent of Craig Gwilym\, across to Pentyrch and a loop to the east of the village \, returning via Craig y Parc.\nMeet at Creigiau Inn\, OS Explorer Map 151\, grid reference 083815\nPlease only park on the roads near to the pub and be aware it’s a 6pm start.\n\nFor your safety and the safety of other members\, we advise minimum personal equipment requirements for all our walks.

SUMMARY:Evening walk: Gwaelod & The Garth. 5miles/8km\, 900ft/275m ascent
DESCRIPTION:Join Mick on this delightful and varied route taking in the River Taff\, a fairly steep ascent to the Garth plateau via the North East spur footpath and onto the Trig Point (307m). A a more gentle descent via fields & woodland back to Gwaelod y Garth Inn ( Camera Award Winning Hostelry). Approx 5 miles/8km and 900ft/275m of ascent.\n\nOS Explorer Map 151 / 1:25000\, grid reference 117833.\nwhat3words : extend.wire.blame\n\nStart at 6pm. \nSuggest parking off road at the entrance to Garth Tyres & Autos \, on the right as you enter Gwaelod y Garth Village just after houses on the right. Please Do Not go up the road towards main part of the village (restricted parking). The garage should be closed for business\,  so parking allowed.\n\nPub final food order 8pm\, so we will make sure we complete walk by 7.50pm if people are wanting to eat as well as have a drink afterwards and we can vary route after Garth summit accordingly.\n\nPlease let Mick know if you’re coming by text or WhatsApp (see recent email for his mob number).
