SUMMARY:Walk: Christmas Pudding Walk & Social. 5 miles (Easy)
DESCRIPTION:It’s the annual Christmas Pudding Walk and Social leaving Tretower at 9.30 for a 5 mile walk. The walk is a steep climb up to the Beacons Way\, following the Beacons Way for a couple of miles then heading back towards Tretower mainly through fields\, hopefully getting back to Tretower about 1 pm.There will be refreshments\, mulled wine\, tea and coffee plus mince pies at the Tretower Village Hall but please bring your lunch with you.  This is an opportunity to wish fellow walkers and climbers a Merry Christmas\, sing a few carols and generally have a social time. We will vacate the hall around 2.30 pm.Starting from Tretower Court\, OS Explorer Map OL13\, grid reference SO 185213. \nRegarding parking – we are able to park all along the front of the Tretower gift shop building plus if this area is full they will allow us to park at the back of the car park.  As we are not being charged for the parking it would be a nice gesture to visit the shop.  Also Tretower Court is well worth visiting too. \nFor your safety and the safety of other members\, we advise minimum personal equipment requirements for all our walks.

DESCRIPTION:This Thursday’s evening walk on the 3rd July will start at 7 pm from the Coach and Horses Carpark\, Llangynidr. OS Explorer Maps OL13 grid reference 145198.\n\nThere are a couple of options –\n1. Walk to the summit then retrace our steps back to the carpark – approx. 4 miles.\n2.  Walk to the summit then descend the northern slope and follow the Usk Valley Walk to the canal then back to the carpark – approx 5miles.\n3. A walk along the canal to Llangynidr locks to watch the boats go through the locks then retrace our steps back to the carpark.\n\nCar parking is free for those who buy a drink afterwards otherwise there is a fee.\nFor your safety and the safety of other members\, we advise minimum personal equipment requirements for all our walks.

It will be approximately 2 hours long and we will be walking up to Allt yr Esgair . SUMMARY:Christmas Pudding Walk (easy walk)
DESCRIPTION:Traditionally\, the location and route for this short and easy walk is kept secret until a few days before the event. This year it will begin at Llanover Village Hall (Map OL13 grid reference SO311082). A short narrow lane opposite a sign to the Village Hall on the A4042 and by the bus stop takes you to the hall. Car parking is at the back.  \nThis undulating walk will take approximately 3 hours and covers fields\, woods\, a sunken lane and a short stretch along the canal. There will be a 15 minute coffee break at the Goose and Cuckoo\, although it may not be open at that time of the morning. And then back to the Village Hall for lunch (bring your own) followed by mulled wine\, tea\, coffee\, mince pies and carols. etc.
