DESCRIPTION:Join Alex for this linear traverse of the Sugar Loaf from Crickhowell to Abergavenny. The route is graded moderate (16km/10miles\, 850m/2130ft ascent). \nFrom Byefield Lane Car Park\, Abergavenny we will walk a short distance (half mile) to a bus stop. We will take the 09:54 X43 bus service to Crickhowell. Alighting at Beaufort Square\, we will make our way using minor roads and footpaths towards Llangenny for our ascent of the Sugar Loaf via its west ridge. After reaching the summit trig point we will descend via Deri and then through ancient woodland to the residential streets below; and thence to our cars. \nStart 9:30am prompt\, Byefield Lane Car Park. Please bring bus fare (cash\, debit card\, bus pass). \nFor your safety and the safety of other members\, we advise minimum personal equipment requirements for all our walks.

DESCRIPTION:Join Ralph for this hard graded walk of 25km/15.5 miles\, 1269m/4163 ft ascent. \nAn ascent from the north via Cwm Cwnstab and continuing to Waun Fach and Pen y Gadair Fawr. Dropping into the Grwyne Fechan valley the route then climbs to Pen Twyn Glas and continues over Mynydd Llysiau to the col (Macnamara’s road 616m). A gradual descent to cross the river in Cwm Rhiangoll followed by a pull up to Bwlch Bach a’r Grib. From the summit of Y Grib the edge is followed to Mynydd Bychan from where the path zig zags it’s descent and then returns to the start. 15.5 miles\, 4163 ft ascent. \nStart from Rhos Fawr common\, OS Explorer Map OL13\, grid reference: SO187 333. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFor your safety and the safety of other members\, we advise minimum personal equipment requirements for all our walks.
