We will take the 09:54 X43 bus service to Crickhowell. DESCRIPTION:Our walk this coming Sunday takes us into the lovely countryside around Parc Cwm Darran. We will climb up to the ridges above both sides of the park\, pass through ancient woodland\, cross open moorland\, down country tracks through farmland and experience far reaching views.\n\nThere is the possibility of reducing the length of the walk at around the 5 mile mark and returning to the visitors centre and cafe along a flat track through the park (approximately 1.5 miles). SUMMARY:Evening walk: Cotterell Hill 4.5miles
DESCRIPTION:The route is circular and about 4.5 miles. It offers superb views in all directions and includes open ground\, woodland and a beautiful section of the Wye Valley near Symonds Yat.\nIt takes in Cotterill Hill\, which rises to 200 plus metres. From the O.S trig point we have a long descent to Welsh Bicknor Church  and a YH next to the Wye. We then ascend through woodland back along a lane to Goodrich for possible refreshments. \nWe start at “Ye Hostelerie” 16th C pub in the centre of Goodrich. SO 575 195.\nGoodrich is reached off the A40 just past Whitchurch by taking the B4229. Follow brown signs for Goodrich Castle. Roger has permission for us to use the car park (just before the pub on the right side of the lane). If the car park is full\, it is okay to use the school car park situated about 100 yards south of the pub. \nPlease let Roger know if you’re attending.\n\nFor your safety and the safety of other members\, we advise minimum personal equipment requirements for all our walks.
