Please also bring your usual food/drink for a 5- to 6-hour/10mile walk. \nJanuary’s full Moon came to be known as the Wolf Moon because it was believed (incorrectly) that wolves were more likely to be heard howling at this time. This moon is also known as the Moon After Yule\, Ice Moon or Old Moon. Nevertheless\, a near full (95%) Moon and the hope of clear\, cold weather offers the opportunity for a splendidly lit night walk across the central Brecon Beacons. \nFurther details will be sent by email. \n  \nFor your safety and the safety of other members\, we advise minimum personal equipment requirements for all our walks.

DESCRIPTION:It’s time for the infamous Christmas Pudding Walk which will begin at 10.00am! \nThis year’s Christmas Pudding Walk will start from Llangasty Village Hall\, OS Explorer Maps OL13\, grid reference SO122256\, near Llangors Lake. It will be approximately 2 hours long and we will be walking up to Allt yr Esgair . DESCRIPTION:Our member Dave Bingham is one of the Club’s most experienced high-altitude mountaineers with successful ascents of 6\, 7 and 8000 metre peaks in Pakistan\, Nepal and Tajikistan to his name. \nAt this coming Thursday talk (21st November\, 8pm\, Goytre Village Hall) he will tell us about his trip to Nepal last year to climb Imja Tse (better known as Island Peak\, 6\,165m) and Labouche East (6\,119m). Of the latter\, with it’s difficult slabs from the start and a six-hour ascent from high camp\, Dave says “it’s one of the hardest climbs I’ve ever done”. \nPlease do come along to hear Dave tell his story.

DESCRIPTION:Despite a lifetime of outdoor walking and climbing activities I’m not a natural backpacker. Making a journey on foot with my home on my back is almost alien to me. That’s not to say I’ve never done it but the occasions have been few\, far between and of short duration. Thus\, it was with trepidation that I embarked upon my Pennine Way adventure in May 2022. What would this 255 mile 17 day journey bring? Would I be capable? Would I cope? Would I finish it? Come along to this talk to hear my story.
