DESCRIPTION:At 886m/2907ft\, Pen y Fan is the highest peak in southern Britain and is located in the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park.  \nThis moderate walk (16km/10miles\, 886m/2907ft ascent) takes one of the lesser-trodden paths to the top – up the long ridge line of Cefn Cwm Llwch\, before ticking off the neighbouring beacons of Cribyn and Fan y Big. The latter is shome to the famous airy slab known as the Diving Board. From there\, the Cefn Cyff ridge makes a good descent to the bottom (one ford to cross at this point) with a further four miles through field and lanes back to the start. \nStart 9.30am. DESCRIPTION:A moderate walk of 17.5km/11miles with 610m/2000ft ascent. For the discerning hillwalker\, we explore rarely visited above-ground features in the Ogof Ffynnon Ddu National Nature Reserve. After attaining the rocky summit of Carreg Cadno we will proceed across the moor via Pant Mawr Pot and through the forest to head for the grassy summit of Fan Fraith\, a peak often overlooked in favour of its higher and more well-known neighbour. After Fan Fraith we will return across the moor to find limestone pavements\, and the locked entrance of the OFD cave below; finally descending back to the starting point via a disused quarry tramway with wood sleepers still in situ in places. \nStart 10.00am.
