SUMMARY:Training: Navigation practice
DESCRIPTION:Whether you’re staying the weekend at Glyntawe\, or just coming for the day\, today is an opportunity for those members that would like to practice aspects of mapping reading and compass work to find their way in the mountains. The session\, which will last all day but may not involve much distance\, will adapt to the needs and wishes of the participants as we find our way up to and through the remote and wild Carrog Goch area. Places to find could include Sinc y Giedd\, a WWII aircraft site\, various shakeholes\, waterfalls and river crossing points. Please OS map OL12 and a compass\, as well as your phone with an appropriate mapping app or a dedicated GPS device. \nExtra warm layers are advised for this day\, as we may spend significant periods standing still in the wind (but hopefully\, not the rain). \nFor your safety and the safety of other members\, we advise minimum personal equipment requirements for all our walks.
